The fin earns her fourth straight title
Lotta Lepistö claimed her 4th straight national time trial title earlier today. The Gent Wevelgem winner rode the 23km course in a time of 33:45.
The delighted winner was particularly happy with the result as she returns from illness. “The race was really hilly here in the north with almost 400m of climbing,” she said.
“It’s always nice to win. It always means something to win the national title. I feel like I can’t ride without my flag, I am very proud. I’ve been a little sick so the preparation wasn’t perfect coming into the race. Last week I did a race with the men here in Finland, the oldest race here. Then I did good training so the signs are that the form is improving now finally after illness.”
The result means it’s the team’s eleventh victory of the season. Lepistö will take part in the road race tomorrow as she also looks to defend the national title there.
