The Belgian team of the 2nd placed rider Ann Sophie Duyck came out fighting today, launching riders off the front to soften things up. Lauren, Lauretta and Rushlee did a great job of keeping things together, with Lauren covering moves.
The race was temporarily neutralized due to a crash that took both ambulances, once they got back underway, it was back to a fast pace and full on racing.
On the final climb, Tayler attacked as planned and went clear with a rider from the French national team. They held a small gap over the top of the climb and with only 3km to the line it was full gas all the way. The French rider took the stage win, but with the time bonus for 2nd and the few seconds gap across the line, Tayler was able to take 2nd on GC.
So we finished the week 1, 2 overall. And with Ruth in the sprinters jersey and Tayler in the climbers jersey. I’m so proud of the team for riding a fantastic race.”
