For the first time in it’s 10-year history, the JetBlack 24 Hour with its JetBlack 6+6 Hour offspring will take place at Rydal Showgrounds near Lithgow on 3+4 March 2018 and with thanks to our hosts, the Central Tablelands MTB Club and the NSW Forestry Corporation who will help us put together an awesome race track and all that supported by the Lithgow City Council.
This is the 10th anniversary of this event, which was first held by Rocky Trail Entertainment in 2009 and has been sponsored by JetBlack Products Australia from day one. Our expected 250-300 race participants from all over NSW and the ACT as well as VIC and QLD can race in teams of up to 6 in the 24 Hour competition and up to 4 in the 6+6 Hour event. There are the classic age categories in the solo divisions – yes, we will have riders who will race from Saturday at 12pm until Sunday 12pm. Non-stop. The absolute race favourite is multiple 24-hour World Champion, Jason English, from Newcastle who won the JetBlack 24 Hour event six times and who will be at the start line at Lidsdale State Forest and the Rydal Showgrounds to take the title back from Canberra’s Sam Moffit who won in 2016. The Female Solo title holder is Jemma Burtonwood from Nambucca Heads.
This is a very social event and our participants will bring the family, friends and the kids – there is so much space and we can’t wait to entertain them in “classic 24-hour race style”! DJ, great food, kids activities, that signature Rocky Trail wake-up call on Sunday morning – the Rocky Trail crew awaits you at Rydal!
