Arnaud Demare will lead Goupama-FDJ at next month’s Tour de France hoping to take stage victories and potentially the Green Jersey.
The 26 year old won his first stage of the Tour de France last year and has already netted a couple of wins again this year, his most recent in the Tour de Suisse where he beat Fernando Gaviria, Alexander Kristoff and Peter Sagan.
He will have a strong lead out train featuring Jacopo Guarnieri, Oliver Le Gac, Ramon Sinkledam and Tobias Ludvigsson.
With Thibaut Pinot unable to compete, still recovering from Pnemonia which forced him out of the Giro d’Italia, FDJ will bring in young climber and former Tour de l’Avenir winner Damien Gaudo. The 21 year old showed great form and courage in the Criterium du Dauphine attacking multiple times throughout the mountain stages.
Rounding out Groupama’s team are Arthur Vichot and Rudy Molard. Both will be on the attack during the race and will help Demare in the earlier stages. The latter will be looking to win stages after taking victory in Stage 6 of Paris-Nice earlier this year. He again looked strong in the Criterium du Dauphine and a stage victory is not out of the question for him.
