Cofidis have chosen Christophe Laporte as their sprinter for the Tour de France, leaving out Nacer Bouhanni. Laporte has six victories this year and showed a lot of promise in last year’s race.

The 25 year old has won one more race than Bouhanni this year but Cofidis believe he is their best chance to sprint to victory. He will be supported by Dmitri Claeys, Anthony Perez, Julien Simon and Anthony Turgis.

As for the mountains, there are three strong riders who can hunt stage success in Nicolas Edet, Jesus Herrada and Daniel Navarro. All three showed good form at the Criterium du Dauphine attacking multiple times with Navarro just falling short of stage victory on stage 7 when he was caught by Richie Porte in the final 200m. He will also ride for GC after finishing 9th.
