Falls, punctures, dust, heat … The riders will not have been spared on this stage of the Tour de France. Warren Barguil manages to stay in the group of favorites and ranks 15th, he is now 18th overall. No punctures or mechanical trouble are to be reported on this course yet demanding for the equipment. Laurent Pichon and Romain Hardy go ashore but the two Bretons get away with some scratches.

Warren Barguil (15th):
“I’m having a great stage, it was not easy, you had to be very focused all day but I did well. I do not run often on the pavement yet I like it. I avoided falls that’s the main thing. Now place a little ‘recuper’, the football game on the iPad while waiting for the plane with friends and a good day of rest before attacking the mountain. ”

Romain Hardy :
“I had not faced the pavement since the Juniors. With my small size it is not what suits me best but this morning, I did not apprehend more than that. I like when there is tension in the pack, when it rubs and you have to stay put. The first part of the race went really well, I was still in the top 30, but halfway through I’m on the ground with Mollema. Then I’m no longer in the pace, I had a little pain everywhere, I gritted my teeth and I reached the finish line. ”

Sébastien Hinault – Sporting Director:
” Warren appreciates this exercise every time he had to deal with cobblestones in the Tour de France he was comfortable. But this year there was a noticeable difference, a much larger number of paved areas. For all that, Warren has always been well placed, always in the first group. He is 15th of the stage, we would all have signed for such a result at the start. The bonus for the team is that there was no mechanical problem or serious fall, Laurent and Romain are doing well. We are full of confidence and we approach the mountain stages with a lot of ambition. “
