CNSW set to better last year’s record membership

Cycling NSW is set to record another record membership year surpassing 2011's 7,464 membership. CEO Kevin Young says this will make 8 years of consecutive growth for Cycling NSW which is a significant achievement for our sport.

A pleasing aspect of the growth is an increase in Junior membership with numbers passing the 1,000 level for the first time vindicating the pathway programs established.

Another prominent strategy employed by Cycling NSW has been its hugely successful CycloSportif calendar and membership recruitment program. SuccessfulCycloSportif events such as the nab B2B, G2I, GHCC and Ride for Life are actively encouraging participation across all levels of the community with many newcomers to these events converting to full membership entitlements.

We have developed a very successful formula through these events running a Criterium event, Hill Climb event followed by variable distance CycloSPortif events the next day. Our plan for 2013 is to launch two, maybe three new CycloSportif events adopting this tried and proven format which should bolster our membership making our 10,000 membership target by the end of 2013 a reality.
